Google extends Gemini availability: new Chrome shortcut for mobile search

Google continues to expand the capabilities of its Gemini mobile app with more international availability and new features. Following an update to gemini.google.com in early March, Chrome users now have a handy @gemini shortcut that allows them to quickly search through the Gemini mobile app directly from the browser's address bar.

Here's What We Know

Significant efforts were made to expand the language support of the mobile application. Starting with English, Japanese and Korean, Gemini now supports Spanish (LATAM Spanish), French, Portuguese (Brazilian Portuguese), Chinese, Italian and German.

The app is now available in all countries supported by Google, except for the UK, EU, and Switzerland.

Google is actively working on supporting various functions through Google Assistant, which makes access to Gemini even more convenient. The app is also available through the Google Search app on iOS with a built-in toggle at the top.

The new Extensions feature allows users to quickly access important information provided by services such as Google Flights, Google Hotels, Google Maps, Google Workspace, and YouTube through Gemini.
