The fog of war in our time: Ukraine wants to limit satellite imagery of its territory
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine will cooperate with one of the largest satellite companies to limit the imaging of Ukrainian territory.
Here's What We Know
Representatives of the Ministry of Defence have already met with the management of the company, whose name is not being disclosed for security reasons.
"Every day, satellite companies take images of the territory of Ukraine. These images can be used by the enemy. That is why we are grateful to our partners for their willingness to sign a memorandum with us and jointly implement a mechanism to restrict the imaging of our territory. This cooperation should serve as an example for other satellite companies. In times of war, we must minimise the risks of the enemy using images of Ukraine," said Deputy Minister of Defence Kateryna Chernogorenko.
In addition, the government intends to extend the contract with the satellite company to order up-to-date images of Ukraine's territory.
