Microsoft has announced that it will build a new data centre in Thailand as it seeks to expand its presence in the region.

The tech giant said it would commit to training more than 100,000 people to work with AI and start supporting local developers. However, the amount of investment is still unknown.
Earlier, the company's CEO Satya Nadella said that the company would invest $1.7 billion in Indonesia over the next four years to build the infrastructure for AI.
"Thailand has an incredible opportunity to build a digital future based on artificial intelligence," Nadella said.
Microsoft said that demand for cloud computing services from its companies is growing in Thailand. The giant's presence will allow the country to take advantage of economic and productivity opportunities.
Microsoft is expanding its operations in Southeast Asia, announcing plans to establish new regional data centres in Malaysia and Indonesia in 2021. The company's current data centre in Southeast Asia is located in Singapore.
