PC gamers can sleep easy: Ghost of Tsushima won't require a PlayStation Network tethering to complete the Ghost of Tsushima experience
The scandal that erupted between Sony and PC gamers, which was caused by the company's demand to link the Steam accounts of Helldivers 2 players to the PlayStation Network, has come to an end. The Japanese giant withdrew this demand, but its consequence was a huge reputational loss and a catastrophic drop in Helldivers 2 ratings.
Obviously, in the future gamers will not be so favourable to PC-versions of PlayStation exclusives, and in order to secure Ghost of Tsushima in advance, the developers of samurai action published an important message.
Here's What We Know
Sucker Punch studio has announced that Ghost of Tsushima on PC will not require binding to PlayStation Network.
It is required only in two cases: when launching the Legends multiplayer mode or to use the new PlayStation overlay, which will debut in the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima.
All single-player content is available without PSN.

Just so you are aware, A PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the singleplayer game.
When We Can Expect It
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will be released on 16 May on Steam and EGS. The edition includes the Iki Island story add-on and Legends mode.
