KNDS showed how a Boxer infantry fighting vehicle with RCT30 module repelled a drone attack (video)
Franco-German company KNDS has tested the Boxer infantry fighting vehicle with the modernised RCT30 module.
Here's What We've Seen
The video shows the Boxer using a 30mm cannon, various sensors and programmed ammunition to destroy drones that try to attack the vehicle. According to the company, the modernised RCT30 combat module has performed well in the field.
The module boasts a 360-degree view, as well as machine learning integrated into the system, which allows it to autonomously detect, capture and determine the distance to a target. Once the combat vehicle detects the drone and its direction, it automatically aims at the target. Incidentally, a modernised version of the RCT30 is now in the final stages of development.
