Filming on 'Tron: Ares' with Jared Leto is officially over: director reveals what went on behind the scenes
Despite the fact that the third part of the sci-fi franchise from Disney will be released only in autumn 2025, director Joachim Rønning officially announced the completion of filming of "Tron: Ares" with Jared Leto in the title role.

The main stage of filming has reportedly been completed, and now it's time for the special effects team to work their magic on the finished footage.
Ronning published a post on his official Instagram account in which and announced the completion of the filming process and complemented the post with a few shots from the set, where Leto can be seen in the role of Ares.
"That’s a wrap on TRON:ARES! Thanks to an incredible and tireless crew, I really believe we pushed the filmmaking limits on this movie. Even through six weeks of night shoots you never slowed down. Also, a big thank you to our wonderful cast for leaving everything on screen. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve done". - wrote Ronning.
Recall that since the release of the previous instalment of the franchise, "Tron: Legacy" (2010), it has been almost 15 years. Also, it has been confirmed that Jeff Bridges, star of the original 1982 "Tron" film, will take part in "Tron: Ares." Bridges revealed on the Film Comment podcast that he will play a role in the third film in the series, but did not specify whether he will play Kevin Flynn, Clu, or both roles.
When We Can Expect It
"Tron: Ares" has not yet received an official release date, but it is expected to premiere in autumn 2025.
