The number of copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold is approaching 62 million

Nintendo's software sales for the fiscal year may have been down slightly from the previous year, but their flagship games continue to perform well, as evidenced by their latest best-selling games list. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains in first place with 61.97 million units sold as of 31 March 2024, up from 60.58 million in the previous quarter.

Here's What We Know

Including the original Wii U release, Mario Kart 8's lifetime sales total is an impressive 70.43 million. Other notable achievements include Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 45.36 million sales, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with 34.22 million and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with 31.85 million.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which was released on 12 May for Switch, sold 20.61 million units, up from 20.28 million in the previous quarter.
