Sharp Aquos R9 announced: Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, 240Hz LTPO OLED display and MIL-STD 810G drop protection
Sharp has unveiled a new smartphone Aquos R9, which is the successor to last year's R8 model. The novelty was announced on the official website in Japan.
Here's What We Know
The smartphone features a 6.5-inch Pro-IGZO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and variable LTPO 240Hz refresh rate. The maximum brightness is 1500 nits and Dolby Vision is supported. The Aquos R9 features the largest stereo speakers in the Aquos series with Dolby Atmos support. The smartphone has a rectangular design with a flat bezel and a fingerprint scanner built into the power button.
The device is certified to MIL-STD 810G military standard and is dust and water resistant to IPX5, IPX8 and IP6X standards. The main camera uses a dual Leica module: a 50.3 MP main sensor with OIS and f/1.9 aperture, and a 50.3 MP ultra-wide lens with a 122-degree field of view. The front camera also has a 50.3 MP resolution.
Inside, there's a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh. The device runs on Android 14 operating system.
The price and launch date have not been announced yet.
