Competitor to the VW ID.4 and Tesla Model Y: Geely has unveiled the Galaxy E5 compact electric crossover
Geely Automobile has announced a new compact electric crossover.
Here's What We Know
The model is called Galaxy E5. The novelty received a futuristic appearance with narrow headlights and a closed grille. The dimensions of the car are 4615 mm in length, 1901 mm in width and 1670 mm in height. The car has a minimalist interior with a large infotainment system and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats.
The Galaxy E5 is built on the Geely Electric Architecture (GEA) platform and comes with a 160 kW (about 218 horsepower) electric motor. It is paired with an LFP battery pack.
Geely will also launch an EREV (Electric Range Extended Vehicle) version in the future. This will be an electric vehicle with an extended range that will be able to use the internal combustion engine as a generator to recharge the battery. This version of the car will come with a Shendun battery pack. The car will be able to travel up to 2000 km with a full tank of petrol.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Sales of the Galaxy E5 will start in China in the near future. The electric car will cost in the range of $20,000-27,000. The novelty is planned to be released in the global market. The crossover will compete with the VW ID.4 and Tesla Model Y.
