The Samsung Galaxy S24 security update for May 2024 is now available in the US
Samsung has started updating its smartphones with a fresh security patch for May and first in line is the Galaxy S24 line of new flagships.
Here's What We Know
The fresh May 2024 security update for the Samsung Galaxy S24, which is already available for download on AT&T and T-Mobile networks in the US, doesn't contain any major changes. The update is over 500MB in size, indicating that it probably only includes the latest security patches and possibly some bug fixes.
While there were earlier rumours that Samsung was working on a big camera update for the Galaxy S24 that could have been released in May, late last month it was reported that the S24 camera-centric update has been delayed until at least June.
Currently, the May update is only available for S24 users on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Samsung has published its security bulletin for May, which details all the security vulnerabilities that have been fixed.
There may be a big update coming next month focused on the Galaxy S24's camera. The company is working on significant changes, especially in image processing with the telephoto lens. Depending on when Samsung completes its optimisations, this firmware update could arrive in June or July.
