Strike on a refinery in the Kaluga region: Russian authorities confirm UAV attack and fire
On Friday, 10 May, a drone attack on the Pervy Zavod petrochemical plant in Russia's Kaluga region resulted in a fire on the plant's premises. The governor of the region, Vladislav Shapsha, confirmed the incident and said that the fire had already been extinguished.

The governor said there were no casualties as a result of the attack. First Plant LLC is the largest petrochemical enterprise in the Kaluga region, located in the village of Polotnyany Zavod. It processes commercial oil and gas condensate. This refinery was already attacked by drones on 15 March, Krymskiy Vetr reports.
Kaluga is located about 350 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.
In recent months, attacks on petrochemical enterprises in Russia have become a frequent occurrence. The Ukrainian Security Service has claimed involvement in these attacks, which are aimed at reducing oil production and refining in Russia. In total, at least 13 attacks on Russian refineries were reported during the reported period, resulting in a 12% reduction in production.
Since the end of January, Ukraine has been regularly attacking oil refineries in Russia with long-range drones. In total, the Security Service has carried out at least 13 successful attacks on Russian refineries, according to SBU head Vasyl Malyuk. According to him, as a result, oil production and refining in Russia decreased by 12%. He stressed that revenues from the export of oil products account for a third of the Russian budget and the "lion's share" of the military budget.
