New update of Oura Ring: Two tools for heart monitoring
The popular Oura Ring smart accessory, which is already known for its ability to track sleep and activity, is preparing to release two new tools aimed at improving the heart health of users.
Here's What We Know
According to a statement from Oura, they will launch a firmware update by the end of May. The first tool will measure the cardiovascular age of the owner and compare it with their chronological age to provide useful information for planning a healthy lifestyle.
The calculation of cardiovascular age is based on the analysis of age-related data in the photoplethysmography (PPG) signal, which contains information about the estimated arterial stiffness and pulse wave velocity.
The second new tool will measure the user's cardiac output using a walk test to determine baseline VO2 Max. This will show the maximum amount of oxygen a person can use during intense exercise.
