Zombie saga "28 Years Later" has been given a release date: the film will be released on the franchise's anniversary
Sony finally announced a release date for 28 Years Later on Friday. The date is timed to coincide with the franchise's 22nd anniversary in the US.
When We Can Expect It
Since the original "28 Days Later" was first released in the US on 27 June 2003, Sony announced that "28 Years Later" will be released on 20 June 2025. Filming will begin in Northumberland in May 2024.
Danny Boyle, the director of the first instalment, will return to the director's chair and Alex Garland will be the screenwriter. Rumour has it that the new film could be the start of a new trilogy that Garland will write. It was previously reported that Candyman director Nia DaCosta is already in talks to direct the second film of the trilogy.
Here's What The Movie Is About
Plot details have not yet been revealed, but it is known that the performer of the lead role in the original film, Cillian Murphy, will not return in the upcoming film, but will act as an executive producer.
The cast of 28 Years Later includes Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O'Connell, who plays a crucial role in the trilogy.
