Sony continues to walk the rake: the long-awaited PC version of Ghost of Tsushima has been taken off sale in 181 regions without PSN access
With the high-profile scandal surrounding Helldivers 2 barely over, Sony has made another bizarre move that is increasingly ruining the company's reputation and could discredit PC ports of its games forever.
Here's What We Know
A few days ago, under pressure from players, Sony withdrew the mandatory linking of a Steam account to the PSN to access Helldivers 2. However, the co-operative shooter is still unavailable in 177 countries, where it was previously sold without problems.
In the midst of the aforementioned scandal, Sucker Punch Studios announced that Ghost of Tsushima on PC won't require tethering to the PlayStation Network. Well, maybe it won't require it, but the game has also been taken off sale in 181 regions that don't have access to the PlayStation Network.
Gamers in those regions are reporting that they are being forced to refund their pre-order money for the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima.
Note: All content in the single-player game is available without PSN. An account will only be required in two cases: when launching Legends multiplayer mode or to use the new PlayStation overlay, which will make its debut in the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima.
When We Can Expect It
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will be released on 16 May on Steam and EGS. The edition includes the Iki Island story add-on and Legends mode.
