Shortly before the release of Prison Architect 2, the publisher Paradox stopped cooperation with Double Eleven studio and handed the project to another developer
Prison Architect 2 prison construction and development simulator hasn't been released yet, but gamers have a serious reason to worry about its quality.
Here's What We Know
Swedish publisher Paradox Interactive announced about parting with Double Eleven studio, which was the main developer of Prison Architect 2 and worked on this series for nine years.
It is reported that Paradox Interactive and Double Eleven "did not come to a commercial agreement" and are forced to end their co-operation.
In the development of the Prison Architect 2 simulator Double Eleven studio was assisted by Brazilian colleagues from Kokku, who from January 2024 completely took over the rest of the development of the game.
Note that this is the third studio that is involved in the Prison Architect franchise: the first part of the game was released in 2013 by Introversion Software, after which the brand was bought out by Paradox and entrusted its development to Double Eleven. Gamers can only hope that the change of developer shortly before release will not affect the final result.
When We Can Expect It
Prison Architect 2 is scheduled for release on 3 September 2024 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
