Xbox will be able to pre-download the update: Sea of Thieves will be the first game with this feature

Imagine you have a free hour to play, but the game receives an update that takes 20 minutes to install. On PlayStation, this problem was solved back in 2021 when they added the option to pre-download updates. Now it's starting to appear on Xbox as well.

Xbox Insiders have access to a new Xbox update that adds the update pre-download feature.

Games that support the update preview feature will allow you to download updates a few days before they are scheduled to be released, so you can start playing as soon as they are available. Sea of Thieves will be the first game to have this feature.

We hope that there will be as many games that support this as possible. This is especially true for multiplayer projects.
