Total monthly active PlayStation Network users reached 118 million in fiscal 2024

Despite the fact that Sony did not meet its target for PlayStation 5 shipments for fiscal year 2024, the company's financial report highlights positive trends in PSN user numbers and software sales. As of 31 March 2024, the PlayStation Network has 118 million monthly active users, up 10 million from the same period last year.

Factors contributing to this success include the growing adoption of the PlayStation 5 and the strong sales performance of Helldivers 2, which has sold 12 million units as of 5 May. In addition, the network's popularity has been boosted by free third-party games.

Software sales for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 totalled 72.6 million units during the fiscal quarter, up from 68 million last year. First-party games totalled 12.3 million units, up 2.8 million units year-on-year.

Digital downloads accounted for 77% of total game software sales, up from the previous fiscal year.
