Nicolas Cage will play Spider-Man Noir in the series, which will tell the story of an old detective in 1930s New York
Noir Spider-Man gained his first great popularity thanks to the game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and many years later, thanks to his appearance in the animated film Spider-Man: Spider-Verse. And now a separate series about this Spider-Man is in development, which will be played by a famous actor.
Here's What We Know
Nicolas Cage will play Spider-Man Noir again, but this time in a TV series. Before that, he voiced the character in the aforementioned Spider-Man cartoon: Into the Spider-Verse. This will be the first time that the character will be portrayed in a film rather than a game or cartoon.
The series will tell the story of an ageing private detective in 1930s New York who is down on his luck and is forced to confront his past life as the city's only superhero.
The series will debut in the US on MGM+ and then go global on Amazon Prime Video. For Cage, this will be his first appearance in a TV series rather than a film.
The series is written by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, who will also serve as co-creators and executive producers. They developed the series alongside the Around the World team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, who will also serve as executive producers.
