A major Ashlands update has been released for the popular survival simulator Valheim: players can expect a new biome, large-scale sieges and challenging trials
Iron Gate studio has announced the full release of update 0.218.15 for the popular survival simulator Valheim, which is still in Early Access, but will soon leave it.
Here's What We Know
The main new feature of this patch is the vast Ashlands biome, which will challenge even the most experienced players.
In Ashlands, players will encounter the strongest and most dangerous enemies in the game. This unfriendly location conceals many dangers and secrets, so unprepared players should not go there.
In addition to battles with enemies, exploring the location and building temporary settlements, players will be able to participate in large-scale sieges. Special siege weapons will help in this, which cause a lot of damage and will be indispensable when storming fortresses.
Producer Valheim describes Ashlands as follows:
We didn't want to just release another biome, but with fire instead of fog. There will be combat in Ashlands, and players should expect challenges. Every inch of territory you claim must be conquered, and every outpost must be fortified before you head inland. We're entering endgame territory, and players must be prepared for what awaits them far to the North.
The update can be installed via Steam and the Microsoft Store, but the second platform is still experiencing some technical issues that may make it difficult to download the file.
In honour of the update's release, Iron Gate Studios has unveiled a special animated trailer:
