Samsung is testing the One UI firmware for the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE model

Samsung seems to be actively working on a new Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S24 FE. The first One UI test firmware for the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy S24 FE has been discovered on Samsung's server, indicating the development of a new Fan Edition smartphone.

Here's What We Know

More evidence is surfacing on the internet that Samsung is developing a new Fan Edition smartphone and this time the information comes straight from Samsung's servers. According to whistleblower @tarunvats33, the first test build of the One UI firmware for the unannounced Galaxy S24 FE has been spotted on Samsung's server, revealing the model number of the European variant - SM-S721B. From this, we can assume that Samsung is in the process of developing One UI for the new Fan Edition handset.

Samsung is gearing up for its next major Unpacked event in July and now the focus is on the upcoming Galaxy Flip 6 and Galaxy Fold 6 foldable smartphones. The upcoming Galaxy S24 FE is unlikely to make an appearance at the event. More likely, Samsung may aim for an annual launch schedule for its Fan Edition handset. The Galaxy S23 FE was announced and released last year in October, which could mean that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S24 FE this October.

One of the big questions about the Galaxy S24 FE is the chipset. It can be seen that the company usually puts the chipset from the previous generation of S-series flagships in its Fan Edition model. For example, last year's Galaxy S23 FE received an Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor (depending on the market), which were installed in the Galaxy S22 models. Therefore, we can expect that the Galaxy S24 FE could be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which was used in the Galaxy S23 lineup in all markets. But for now, this information has not been confirmed.
