Voice control and sound recognition: Apple reveals what features will be coming to CarPlay with the release of iOS 18

Apple, a month before its WWDC 2024 conference, has announced new accessibility features for CarPlay.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about three innovations:

• Voice Control - This feature will allow users to navigate CarPlay and control apps using their voice.
• Color Filters - this feature will make the CarPlay interface visually easier to use for people with colour blindness.
• Sound Recognition - This feature will allow deaf or hard of hearing drivers and passengers to receive notifications in CarPlay about driving-related sounds. For example, car horns and sirens.

When We Can Expect It

The new features will be part of the iOS 18 operating system and will arrive on iPhones and iPads later this year.
