In Google Sheets, you can now convert cells to tables
Google has updated its popular spreadsheet app to allow you to quickly turn blocks of cells into structured spreadsheets.
Here's What We Know
In this update, which was released this week, Google Sheets introduced a long-awaited feature that allows users to easily convert groups of cells into tables with the click of a button.
Users have been clamouring for this feature for a long time, as it simplifies the process of creating and formatting tables by providing quick access to filtering and formatting features that have hitherto required manual processing.
The new feature, which is accessible through the Format menu, allows you to easily convert selected cells into a table by automatically applying basic formatting. This allows you to change the colour of filter headers, alternate colours in rows, and align data in a cell.
In addition, Google Sheets now supports grouping data, creating templates for pre-built tables, and provides new ways to interact with data using table links.
The innovation became available to all users starting from 8 May.
