Apple ends 'University iOS Developer Programme' for students

Apple has decided to stop participating in the University iOS Developer Programme, which provided students with the opportunity to develop and test applications for Apple devices for free.

Here's What We Know

According to a notice posted on their website and email newsletter, the programme will no longer be available to participants from 15 May.

This programme allowed university professors and lecturers to create development teams of up to 200 students who could build apps without the mandatory annual fee of USD 99 for participation in the Apple Developer Programme.

However, the company noted that accredited educational institutions can continue to register for the Apple Developer Programme for free. To do so, they only need to apply for a fee waiver.
