Insider: Apple is preparing a new AirTag with an improved chip and a new AirTag Recolor feature for 2025

A new generation of the Apple AirTag tracker with a new chip and improved location tracking capabilities is expected to hit the market in mid-2025.

Here's What We Know

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the device, codenamed "B589," is in its final stages of development, with production testing already underway with partners in Asia.

The new AirTag model will have an updated chip and enhanced location tracking capabilities.

Data from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo indicates that the mass production of this tracker has been postponed to some point in 2025. Besides, he hinted at the possible integration of the new AirTag with the Apple Vision Pro headset, but there are no details yet.

It is noted that this generation of AirTag may enter the market with an innovative AirTag Recolor feature, although details regarding this feature remain unknown.
