Sonos has unveiled the Ace to compete with Apple's AirPods Max: the brand's first wireless headphones for $449
Sonos, after a year of rumours and leaks, has entered the beardless headphone market.
Here's What We Know
The first novelty of the brand is the flagship model Sonos Ace. The manufacturer positions the device as a competitor to Apple AirPods Max, as well as other models in this segment.
Sonos Ace received 40-millimetre speakers, as well as eight microphones, which are responsible for the system of active noise cancellation of sound, as well as transparency mode. The headphones support spatial sound, Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio. The novelty can be connected via Bluetooth 5.4 or via USB-C port. Battery life is 30 hours (with ANC enabled). The model supports fast charging (3 minutes will provide 3 hours of music listening).
Sonos Ace also boasts integration with other Sonos products. For example, when using the Ace with a TV that has an Arc soundbar installed, pressing a button will automatically switch the sound from the TV to the headphones. Sonos plans to introduce such a feature in the Sonos Beam and Sonos Ray speaker in the future.
The headphones come with a case, a USB-C to USB-C cable and a 3.5mm adapter.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Sonos Ace is already available for pre-order on the manufacturer's website for $449/€499. Sales of the novelty will begin on 5 June.
