Guide: How to turn off black bars and post-processing effects in Senua's Saga: Hellblade II on PC?
On 21 May, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II was released. Some players didn't like the fact that the game has black bars at the top and bottom that cannot be switched off, just like in the cinema. Various post-processing effects cannot be turned off through the settings either, but players found a way to do it.
Here's What We Know
If you want to disable black bars, do the following:
- Go to the folder %localappdata%\Hellblade2\Saved\Config\WinGDK. If you purchased the game from the Microsoft Store, then open (YourOSDrive)\(YourUserName)\AppData\Local\Hellblade2\Saved\Config\WinGDK
- Find the engine.ini file and open it with Notepad
- At the very end of the document, paste the following command:
[SystemSettings]
r.NT.AllowAspectRatioHorizontalExtension=0
r.NT.EnableConstrainAspectRatio=0
If you want to disable post-processing effects such as grain, blur, chromatic aberration, etc., add the following commands to the end of the engine.ini file:
r.NT.Lens.Distortion.Intensity=0
r.NT.Lens.Distortion.Stretch=0
r.NT.Lens.ChromaticAberration.Intensity=0
r.NT.DOF.RotationalBokeh=0
r.NT.DOF.NTBokehTransform=0
r.FilmGrain=0
After that, save the document and launch the game.

- The gg editorial team highly appreciated Senua's Saga: Hellblade II and gave the game 4.1/5. Most of all, we liked the story, the atmosphere of Iceland, and the work with visuals and sound.
