Information was shared by the Polish government. It's about the contract for $960 million. With this money, the Polish Army will receive 4 balloons and related equipment. They plan to use them to control the border with Russia and Belarus. The equipment will be supplied by the American company Raytheon Intelligence and Space, together with Elta North America and Avantus Federal.
By the way, Poland will be the first country in Europe, which will use Barbara balloons. They can detect missiles, aircraft, drones and ships within a radius of more than 300 kilometres.
The Barbara balloons are equipped with radar for scanning the airspace and ground surface, on-board early warning radar with the ability to identify "friend or foe", as well as ground control systems.
