A previously unknown tank was spotted in China

In Baotou County, China, a prototype of an unknown tank was spotted, which may be a new generation of tanks in the Chinese army.

Here's What We Know

Local residents spotted the movement of prototypes of unknown armoured vehicles, which were probably moving towards a training ground. The turrets of the two tanks were covered with camouflage nets, which means that the Chinese army is trying to hide the details of the vehicles' construction.

However, the main difference is immediately apparent: different guns. It can be assumed that they are made in 105 mm and 125 mm calibre.

A closer look at one of the tanks reveals a chassis with six support rollers, which indicates that this vehicle may be lighter than traditional tanks. These prototypes may be the result of using components and assemblies from another light tank known as the Type 15, or also the ZTQ-15. It weighs approximately 33-36 tonnes.

The vehicle also has something similar to modular plates, which is probably dynamic protection for the front and side of the vehicle. Along with this, the tank has anti-cumulative grilles in the aft. It is also interesting to note that the front of the tank has hatches for two tankers. This suggests that the turret will be unmanned with two crew members.
