Four US Air Force strategic aviation aircraft have landed in the United Kingdom. The United States has sent a quartet of B-52H Stratofortress to the United Kingdom.
Here's What We Know
The US Air Force has flown four nuclear-capable bombers to the UK's Royal Air Force Base Fairford. The aircraft will take part in the operations of Bomber Task Force Europe 24-3.
Events like this allow U.S. forces to train with allies and partners to improve common understanding, trust and interoperability. The deployment of the B-52H Stratofortress to Europe is aimed at strengthening transatlantic ties between the U.S. and European allies.

The B-52H Stratofortress is a long-range strategic bomber. The aircraft was developed by Boeing and is currently the latest version of the B-52.
The US Air Force is modernising the strategic bomber. The next modification will receive new engines manufactured by Rolls-Royce and radar, and will be designated B-52J. Over the next decades, the US Air Force wants to have 50 B-52J Stratofortress and 100 B-21 Raider aircraft of the new generation in service.
