An Apple iPod prototype with a Tetris clone game was found. It was never released
AppleDemoYT, known for finding rare device prototypes, has shared images and video of an unreleased iPod with a Tetris-style game.
Here's What We've Seen
The insider tracked down a third-generation iPod prototype with model number A1023 that was on design verification test and was never released. It was purchased from an electronics recycler in China who was selling it for parts. The device was inoperable when purchased, but was able to boot up after replacing the hard drive flex cable.
This iPod runs a prototype version of iPodOS 2.0 and has the game Stacker, which is a clone of classic Tetris. Other than that, there are other unreleased games like Block0, Chopper and Klondike.
Incidentally, Apple eventually added a few games to the iPod 3G, including Brick, Solitaire, Parachute and Music Quiz, but not the above. Later, when games were added to the iTunes Store, users could play classic Tetris on later versions of the iPod.
