Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54 received security updates for May 2014

In May 2024, Samsung began rolling out security updates for the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54 smartphones. The changes are already available for the Galaxy A53 in Europe and some Asian countries. The Galaxy A54 has received a new security update in countries such as Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Ukraine, and Vietnam.

Here's What We Know

The new firmware versions for these devices - A536BXXSAEXE1 for the Galaxy A53 and A546EXXS8CXE2 for the Galaxy A54 - bring security fixes but no new features. The update for Galaxy A53 fixes 45 vulnerabilities discovered over the past few months.

The updates are available for download in the Software Update section of your phone's settings. It is also possible to download and install them manually using firmware files from Samsung's database.

An update to One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 is expected later this year.
