WhatsApp now allows you to send longer voice messages as status updates
WhatsApp is introducing a new feature to send longer voice messages for status updates. Now, instead of 30-second messages, you can share 1-minute recordings.
Here's What We Know
Users must update the app via the Play Store to access the new feature. This will ensure that the new feature is fully integrated into messaging.
WhatsApp wasn't the first platform to introduce status updates, and its tools for this feature are still inferior to the likes of Instagram and Snapchat.
The development of voice messages as a status update has been a long time in the making, starting in July 2022. In January of this year, the feature seemed much more polished and ready for release.
WhatsApp announced the feature in February with support for sharing 30-second voice recordings. Users can now send voice messages up to 1 minute long.
