Samsung remains the smartphone market leader in Latin America

Here's What We Know
High-end devices remain less popular among Latin American users, which is reflected in the sales of Samsung and other manufacturers. At the same time, other brands such as Xiaomi, Transsion and Honor are showing significant year-on-year growth in shipments, ranging from 45% to 293%.
Most of the phones shipped in the region are low- and mid-range devices, such as Samsung's Galaxy A series.
Smartphone brands may focus on new trends like artificial intelligence, but most users are not looking at high-end devices.
According to a report by Canalys, only 7% of phones sold in Latin America were priced at USD 800 or more. By comparison, about 82% of phones sold in the region were priced below $400.
