Certification has revealed that the Galaxy Flip 6 will not support the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard

Samsung's Galaxy Flip series of foldable smartphones, although it is considered as a flagship device, but still not all the advanced features and technologies were available to it. It looks like history is repeating itself with the upcoming Galaxy Flip 6 as well.

It was recently revealed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 foldable smartphone will not support the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard. This leak comes after the device was certified by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which states the lack of this feature. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra remains the company's only device that currently boasts this chip. It was previously expected to be joined by other models, including the Flip 6, but expectations were not met. Apparently, the lack of Wi-Fi 7 in the Flip 6 is due to software limitations similar to those in the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models.

While all Galaxy S24 models are equipped with the necessary hardware to support the new standard on variants with the Snapdragon chip, the versions with the Exynos chip prevalent in most countries are limited to the previous Wi-Fi 6E standard. As a result, Samsung has decided not to include Wi-Fi 7 support on these devices.

It's also possible that the Galaxy Flip 6 may have hardware limitations as well, which isn't surprising given that previous models in this series were often inferior to flagship Galaxy devices in some features and specifications. As for the Galaxy Fold 6, while there is no official confirmation yet, it is expected to support Wi-Fi 7 given its high price tag and positioning as a premium device.
