Google Messages has updated its voice recorder design and is now actively rolling out a new noise cancellation feature.
Here's What We Know
Users now have the option to "Turn noise cancellation on/off", which is located next to the voice message recording button. It is automatically enabled for the next recording and activated by default when you long press the record button.

This update affects users on Pixel and Samsung devices after the beta version (version 20240523_04_RC00).
Google said that this innovation will improve the sound quality of voice messages by increasing the bitrate and sample rate.
