Samsung scandal: South Korea investigates radiation exposure of workers at Giheung plant
South Korea has launched an investigation into Samsung after two employees of one of the company's chip manufacturing plants were exposed to radiation. This was reported by the South Korean Nuclear Safety Commission.

The incident occurred at the Giheung plant, which is located about 25 miles from Seoul, the country's capital. The exact cause has not yet been determined. Two workers were hospitalised with symptoms of radiation exposure to their fingers. According to the authorities, the patients' complete blood counts came back normal.
In a statement, Samsung said that two employees at its semiconductor manufacturing plant in Gyeongtaek, Korea, were accidentally exposed to X-rays on their hands. Both employees have been hospitalised and Samsung said it is supporting their treatment and recovery.
The Nuclear Safety Commission has suspended the use of the machine that caused the incident to prevent similar situations in the future.
The exact cause of the radiation exposure is currently unknown as the Nuclear Safety Commission is conducting an investigation.
The Commission has stated that it will take further action if any violations of safety laws are confirmed.
