Apple launches Tap to Pay for iPhone users in Italy: what it is and how it works
Apple continues to expand the geography of its Tap to Pay service, announcing a launch in Italy.
Here's What We Know
The company announced this on its official website. With Tap to Pay, users in Italy can now use their iPhone as a point-of-sale terminal. Tap to Pay supports Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards and other digital wallets. All that is needed to successfully make a payment is to bring another gadget or bank card to that smartphone.
The service in Italy is already supported by Adyen, myPOS, Nexi, Revolut, Stripe, SumUp and Viva. Fabrick, Numia and Sella will join the list a little later. Tap to Pay requires an iPhone XS or newer model.
By the way, Italy was the 11th country to launch Tap to Pay. The service is now also available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Netherlands, Brazil, France, Taiwan and Ukraine.
