The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that the Ukrainian army struck the enemy territory with the Neptun coastal missile system on the morning of 31 May.

The defence forces attacked the ferry crossing and oil terminal of the port "Kavkaz" in the Krasnodar region of rf. By the way, it is 250 kilometres from the front line. The strike was carried out by two missiles.

Flashback

"Neptune" are anti-ship cruise missiles developed by the State Kyiv design bureau "Luch". The main purpose of the Neptune missiles is to hit surface targets such as warships and transport vessels at a distance of up to 280 kilometres. According to the latest reports, Ukraine has been able to modify the missile to hit ground targets. The launch range has increased to 400 kilometres and the weight of the warhead to 350 kilograms. The missiles are equipped with an active radar homing head. The "Neptune" complex includes mobile launchers, transport-loading vehicles and command centres. By the way, it was with the help of missile "Neptune" AFU in 2022 destroyed the flagship missile cruiser "Moscow" worth $750 million.
