Google fixes News and Discover issues in Search

Google has confirmed that some features in Search are being restored following the outage of News and Discover. The company has acknowledged that some users have reported problems accessing News and Discover content.

The outage also affected the Google Discover homepage, which did not display news content, but instead featured commercial offers such as shopping items. The News tab on Google, which normally displays news content, did not display results for queries.

Google announced on Twitter/X that it had identified an issue that caused some features in Search to not work properly. The company said that the problem has been identified and has already been resolved. News and Discover are working in all the areas they tested. However, users are advised to check the results of their queries, as there is a possibility that individual results may vary.

If you notice any abnormal behaviour in Google Search today, the company recommends checking your connection status and trying again after a while.
