Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro cameras have been leaked
Xiaomi will unveil the new Xiaomi 15 series of smartphones in October, which promises to bring significant improvements to the devices' photographic capabilities. A new leak reveals some details about the cameras of the new flagship range.
Here's What We Know
According to a Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro will feature a customised 50 MP OmniVision main camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor size and a large aperture.
In addition, the Xiaomi 15 series will feature a new multi-layer anti-reflective coating on the nano ALD lenses, which should improve light transmission as well as reduce glare and image doubling.
Most notably, the Xiaomi 15 Pro may get a periscopic telephoto lens, which was missing from previous Pro models. This will greatly enhance the telephoto capabilities of the smartphone. It is also reported that the rear camera unit will consist of three 50MP modules - main, ultra-wide-angle and periscopic telephoto lens.
The series will be equipped with artificial intelligence for image processing, which will provide more natural depth of field and three-dimensional lighting. In terms of key specifications, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro are expected to be the world's first smartphones powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra version is reported to be available next year.
