Official modification editor and "evil" endings will appear in Baldur's Gate III in September: Larian Studios has revealed plans for the seventh major patch release
Larian Studios has informed Baldur's Gate III fans when the seventh major patch for the acclaimed RPG will be released, in which the developers will add support for the official toolkit for creating custom modifications.
Here's What We Know
Patch 7 will be released in September, but there will be two phases of testing before it.
At the moment, the mod editor is being tested among a limited number of participants and is in fact a closed alpha testing, where the developers will regularly invite other regular mod creators.
In July the closed beta testing of the patch will start, in which up to 1 thousand people will be able to participate and only on PC. Everyone is welcome to apply to participate in the July test.
In a major patch will appear photo mode and several "evil" endings.
The mod toolkit will help create quests, armour, weapons, storylines and more, but Larian Studios will not insist on using its editor and will not prevent users of other programs.
Mods will be installable on PC, Mac, PlayStation and Xbox, but will only be created on PC.
Before the release of the seventh patch, there are some surprises planned for gamers on the first anniversary of Baldur's Gate III's release, but what those will be is yet to be revealed.
