On 25 October, Like a Dragon will premiere: Yakuza, which is an adaptation of the SEGA game series

We wrote that film adaptations of video games have become a new gold rush for Hollywood. We already have examples of successful series such as The Last of Us or Fallout, and another one will appear in autumn.

Here's What We Know

Amazon announced that the premiere of Like a Dragon series will take place in October: Yakuza, based on the Yakuza video game series.

The series is directed by Masaharu Take. Ryoma Takeuchi will play the main character Kazuma Kiryu.

Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku in Japanese) is a series of video games by SEGA known for its exciting mix of action, role-playing and open world. Most of the games are set in the fictional Kamurocho district, based on the real-life Kabukicho district of Tokyo. The main plot of the series revolves around Kazuma Kiryu, a former yakuza who tries to leave the criminal world but constantly faces new conflicts and intrigues.

When We Can Expect It

The series will be exclusively available on Prime Video worldwide starting 25 October 2024. There will be 6 episodes in total.
