Ukraine may receive the latest Boxer combat vehicles from Germany, but it is unknown how many and when

Ukraine will receive an unknown number of Boxer infantry fighting vehicles equipped with the RCT30 unmanned aerial vehicle from Germany.

Here's What We Know

This version of the Boxer will have a turret system identical to the German Puma tracked vehicle. It will also increase the crew's ability to engage targets such as drones. Thus, Ukraine will receive modern wheeled combat vehicles that will allow it to fight the Russians more effectively than, for example, the BTR-4 or trophy BTR-82A APCs available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

However, their number and delivery date are unknown. Interestingly, Germany itself intends to purchase Boxers in an identical configuration for its army.

Flashback

The Boxer is a German-Dutch 8x8 wheeled armoured personnel carrier developed and manufactured by ARTEC GmbH, which includes KMW and Rheinmetall. The main armament is a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher, a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun or a 7.62 mm universal machine gun. The Boxer can reach speeds of up to 103 km/h with a range of up to 1,100 km.
