A rumour very much like the truth: Amazon will release MMORPG New World on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The announcement may take place at Summer Game Fest

Amazon's multiplayer role-playing game New World was released in 2021 and is still only available on PC.

This fact is not very surprising, as games of this genre require pressing a huge number of buttons, which makes them uncomfortable to play on a gamepad. In addition, despite the initial hype, the interest in New World quickly faded and at the moment the game has a small number of loyal fans.

But that may change soon, as it looks like New World will soon be released on consoles.

Here's What We Know

Users noticed that a game called New World: Aeternum with a distinctive key artwork briefly appeared on the PlayStation Store and soon disappeared. Naturally, gamers drew the logical conclusion that Amazon was going to release New World on PlayStation.

Insider Tom Henderson not only confirmed that this is true, but also reported that the developer is preparing a version for Xbox Series, and New World will be released on consoles in October 2024.

It's possible that New World's release on consoles will be announced at the Summer Game Fest opening ceremony, which starts at 23:00 (CEST) tonight.
