Apple revealed how many iPhones and iPads were running iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 before WWDC 2024

Apple has published statistics on the distribution of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 operating systems.

Here's What We Know

So, according to the manufacturer:

  • 77% of all iPhones have been updated to iOS 17.
  • 68% of all iPads have been updated to iPadOS 17.
  • 86% of all iPhones introduced in the last four years have been updated to iOS 17.
  • 77% of all iPads introduced in the last four years have been updated to iPadOS 17.

Apple says these figures are based on iPhones and iPads that were sold in the App Store on 9 June. That is, the day before the start of WWDC 2024.

By the way, this is the final information about these operating systems, as Apple has already started testing iOS 18 and iPadOS 18.
