Light Phone 3 - a minimalistic phone with black and white OLED screen, camera and NFC-module is unveiled
Light, a company known for its minimalistic phones, has unveiled a new product, the Light Phone 3. This model is an improved version of the previous generation of 2019 and is characterised by the presence of cameras and the transition from E Ink screen to OLED panel. The device is already available for pre-order.
Here's What We Know
The Light Phone 3 features a 3.92-inch black and white OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1240 pixels. The phone features a new control wheel for adjusting screen brightness, which also turns on the torch when pressed to click, 50MP primary and 8MP front cameras, and a dedicated button for taking pictures. Despite the lack of editing and sharing features via social media, the cameras are designed to capture memorable moments.
In addition to this, the Light Phone 3 has an NFC chip for contactless payments, Qualcomm SM 4450 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. The phone also features aluminium buttons, removable battery, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port.
The phone supports 5G connectivity and could be a great alternative to regular mobile phones, as well as appealing to those who care about privacy. The Light Phone 3 is priced at $799, but it can be purchased for $399 as part of a pre-order. The company plans to start mass producing and shipping the devices in January 2025.
