Hooray for progress: PlayStation 5 has received an update that finally allows you to join the Discord voice channel directly from the console
Discord has been available on PlayStation 5 for some time now, but it wasn't 100% integrated. And without a PC or phone, it was impossible to join a voice chat on the console. However, our prayers have been answered, and it will be possible to do this with only one console.
Here's What We Know
First, you need to go to the Discord tab in the Game Base in the PS5 Control Centre and select the Discord server or group you want to join. Then select the voice channel you want to use.
You'll be able to see more information, such as who's already chatting. You'll also receive a notification on your console when another Discord user calls you.
Players will also be able to share their PlayStation Network profile on any messaging app. Select "Share Profile" in the PlayStation App on your phone or on PS5 to generate a link or QR code to share. When the person opens the link, they will be able to add you as a friend after signing in to the PlayStation Network.
The update that adds all this is already available on PlayStation 5, but all these innovations may not appear immediately, but within a week.
