Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is at the top of the Japanese sales charts (again)
Since its launch a few weeks ago, the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has dominated the Japanese sales charts, debuting with over 115,000 physical units sold. According to the latest weekly data from Famitsu, the game has held the lead for the third week in a row, selling another 19,000 copies last week.
Here's What We Know
It's noteworthy that every game in the top 10 is a Switch title, which has been a common occurrence in Japanese weekly charts in recent years. The only exception is Minecraft, developed and published not by Nintendo but by Microsoft, which took fourth place with more than 4,000 units sold.
In terms of hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console in Japan last week, with over 53,000 units sold. The PS5 came in second place, with sales of over 21,000 units.
