Honor Magic V Flip: a clamshell with a 4-inch external display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and a 4,800mAh battery for $690
Honor held an event in China on the 13th of June where it revealed a new foldable smartphone, the Magic V Flip.
Here's What We Know
Like its competitors, the novelty received two displays. The main one has a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. The external display has a 4-inch diagonal and the same LTPO OLED panel. The screen supports the Always on Display feature. You can run different apps on it.
Honor Magic V Flip runs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The novelty features a cooling system. The gadget is powered by a 4800 mAh battery and supports 66W charging.
As for the cameras, there are three of them: 50 MP main camera (IMX906 with OIS) + 12 MP (wide-angle lens with macro function) and 50 MP front (IMX816). Out of the box, the novelty features Android 14 operating system and MagicOS 8.0 shell.
Price & When We Can Expect It
Sales of Honor Magic V Flip will start in China in the coming days. The novelty will be available in colours Iris Black, Camellia White, Champagne Pink and Jimmy Choo Limited-edition, as well as several memory modifications. The basic version for 12/256 GB will cost $690, and the top version for 16 GB/1 TB - $830. Whether the novelty will appear on the global market is still unknown.
