Team Asobo director explains that "there is no hidden meaning" in the Bloodborne costume in Astro Bot

When Team Asobo opened pre-orders for Astro Bot, it became known that players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will get access to the Yharnam Hunter costume (although it can also be unlocked by simply playing the game). In addition, a pleasant surprise was a free update for the Astro game room, which included Lady Maria from The Old Hunters DLC.

Here's What We Know

Given the constant rumours and hopes for a Bloodborne revival, remaster, or remake, some wondered if this outfit hints at something more. However, studio head and creative director Nicolas Doucet explained to Eurogamer that there is no secret meaning. It's just a celebration of the history of PlayStation:

"Instead of the hardware, we put our attention towards the characters. And that’s why we push these cameos. Before they were quite primitive, but now they feel much richer looking. It’s over 150, so it’s going to go really deep, and everybody should have their favorite ones.".

When We Can Expect It

Astro Bot launches on 6 September for $60.
